Types

• Monorails: consisting of a double T beam or a profile on which a trolley, usually motorized, carries the hoist for lifting slides;
• Bridge cranes or bridge cranes: they consist of two head beams sliding on two runways, connected by two other beams perpendicular to them, called main beams, on which one or more trolleys carrying the lifting winches slide;
• Gantry cranes: similar to bridge cranes, but concerning these, the runways are on the ground, so there are vertical connecting structures between main beams and rails;
