As more and more
machines are getting developed rapidly, Industrial Sector has today
reached immense heights over the time. These mechanical devices have
worked wonderfully to augment the quality and quantity of work
rendered by the industries all across the globe. Apart from
eliminating manual workforce, the machines have also rescued the
incidents of mishappenings, injuries to people and damaging of goods.
Out of the huge assortment of machinery present these days, Overhead Crane is one amongst them found extensively in industrial
environments.
Earlier used manually,
these apparatus are now powered by electricity and thus are known as
Electric Overhead Cranes or EOT Crane. These are generally
employed in manufacturing and maintenance applications that allows to
lift and move heavy materials from one location to another
meticulously. Designed in numerous kinds of configurations, this
mechanism is highly popular for the following functions-
- To load and unload materials from a truck
- To move containers around a railyard or shipyard
- To feed raw materials into a machine
- To move pieces down an assembly line in arranged manner
It includes various
types of more cranes. Some of the elementary types of Overhead
Cranes are-
- Bridge Cranes - Consisting of two overhead runways built into the building's support structure, this machine provides great flexibility to carry all the industrial operations. It is further categorized into Single-Girder Cranes and Double-Girder Cranes.
- Where Single Girder Crane consists of one girder beam, the Double Girder Crane has two girder beams supported on each side by an end truck.
- Gantry Cranes - This crane is similar to that of a Bridge Crane and used in special outdoor projects such as in steel mills or in the construction of a bridge, where there is an issue of overhead room.
- Monorail Cranes - This type of crane carries the hoist along a single path with the help of a trolley. Running the material back and forth in a straight line or in a curved track is quite easy with this device.
- Jib Cranes - They are the most economical and space-saving devices available in a number of styles and types. It makes the process of moving the items for assembly within a small area effortless and swift.
- Workstation Cranes - Designed for repetitive lifting of materials, these cranes are versatile and can be easily customized. They not only ease workflow but also enhances work productivity.
